About the Abundant Life Academy
Memberships. ALA is a
member of the Association of
Christian Schools International (ACSI),
Mid-Atlantic Christian School
Association, New Jersey Christian
School Association, and Northern New
Jersey Christian School Association.
Our Administrator. Mrs. Suzanne
C. Bruno is principal of Abundant Life
Academy and part of the ministerial
staff at Abundant Life Worship Center in
Nutley, New Jersey. She holds a Bachelor
in Arts degree in English and Education
from Rutgers University and a Masters in
Education from Indiana Wesleyan
University. After being a high school
English teacher then working for the
state as a writing teacher she was the
first teacher hired for Abundant Life
Academy in fall 1986, then called Nutley
Assembly Christian School. She has
served as teacher, advisory board
member, vice-principal, and then
principal. Her role at ALA has also been
that of supportive parent since both her
son and daughter have attended.
Staff. The staff of ALA are
committed Christians who are trained and
qualified with experience in the field
of teaching. Turnover is a rare thing at
ALA and many of our teachers have been
with us for more than a decade,
providing the continuity and consistency
that are our earmarks.

“unique, innovative, cutting-edge, impacting” program called the “Law of Kindness” which encourages involvement and a strong sense of community. Dr. Smitherman, the president of ACSI, presented the administration of ALA this award at the Metro-Area Teacher’s Convention in October 2005.
